Akgünlük (Boswellia Serrata)

Özet

Geleneksel bitkisel ilaçlar ve bunların bitkisel bileşenleri üzerine artan araştırmalar, bunların çeşitli kanser türlerinde kemoterapiye yardımcı olarak tamamlayıcı olarak faydalı olduğunu kabul etmiştir. Boswellia serrata ağacının oleo-sakız reçinesi, çağlardan beri geleneksel olarak dini, kozmetik ve tıbbi amaçlarla kullanılan böyle bir halk ilacıdır. Bitkinin oleo-sakız reçinesi, geleneksel tıpta artrit, astım, kronik ağrı, bağırsak rahatsızlıkları ve diğer birçok hastalık gibi inflamatuar hastalıklar da dahil olmak üzere çeşitli rahatsızlıkların tedavisinde kullanılmıştır. Bu yazımız , B. serrata ve bileşenlerinin sitotoksik ve antitümör özelliklerine ilişkin genel bilgiler vermektedir.

Increasing research on traditional herbal medicines and their herbal components has recognized their usefulness as a complement to chemotherapy in various types of cancer. The oleo-gum resin of the Boswellia serrata tree is one such folk remedy that has been used traditionally for religious, cosmetic and medicinal purposes since ages. The oleo-gum resin of the plant has been used in traditional medicine to treat a variety of ailments, including inflammatory diseases such as arthritis, asthma, chronic pain, intestinal disorders, and many other diseases. This article provides general information about the cytotoxic and antitumor properties of B. serrata and its components.
