Zencefil (Zingber Officinale)

Özet

Yemeklerde en çok kullanılan baharatlardan biri olan zencefil köksapının geleneksel tıpta birçok iyileştirici özelliği olduğu biliniyor. Tıbbi kullanımları mide bulantısı, kusma, karın rahatsızlıkları ve ishal gibi çeşitli mide-bağırsak rahatsızlıklarının tedavisinden artrit, romatizma, ağrı ve kas rahatsızlıklarının tedavisine ve çeşitli kardiyovasküler hastalıklar ve metabolik hastalıkların hafifletilmesine kadar uzanır. Zencefilin iyi belgelenmiş bu özelliklerine ek olarak, yakın zamanda yapılan bilimsel çalışmalar, çok çeşitli deneysel modellerde zencefilin aynı zamanda antikanser özelliklere de sahip olduğunu ortaya çıkarmıştır.

The rhizome of ginger, one of the most widely used spices in food, has been reputed to have many curative properties in traditional medicine. Its medicinal uses range from the treatment of various gastrointestinal ailments, such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomforts, and diarrhea, to the treatment of arthritis, rheumatism, pain, and muscle discomfort and to the alleviation of various cardiovascular diseases and metabolic diseases. In addition to these well-documented properties of ginger, recent scientific studies have revealed that ginger also possesses anticancer properties in a wide range of experimental models.
